Yarn Along – 6/29/16

June 29, 2016

So far summer heat has not deterred me from spinning. Thank goodness I am spoiled with air conditioning.

As I begin to swatch for my Void shawl, with my merino/silk spin, I plan to start a new project on the wheel. This time I have some Corriedale/Finn batts custom blended by Joanna of Knit Spin Farm. She has a super cool farm in Indiana, so I am happy to support another midwestern Etsy shop.

The batts are a lovely blue with bits of rusty red. I hope to spin it up to preserve some of the color differences. I say that as if I know what I am talking about. Oh, and I need to get a sock weight, since the fiber is especially well suited for sock knitting. Should be fun!

I am about the start a new book – Mr. Mac and Me. It sounds like an interesting story – a fictionalized account of a young boy and his relationship with the architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh. It has good reviews, so we shall see!

Joining Ginny and friends in the Yarn Along. Congratulations to Ginny and family on the arrival of baby Mae!

What a beautiful batt! I’m anxious to see how you spin it. Joanna has some lovely things.

I am looking forward to seeing that beautiful fiber changed into yarn.
