Yarn Along – 12/16/15

December 16, 2015

Sweater: Done! Hopefully will be posting about it later this week!

Advent Knit Along: Going well. Halfway done now. Finding enough time for an entire repeat is challenging. But I am working along. I blocked the bottom to see how it looks. Not bad! My lace is far from perfect, but fine for a scarf. It will be a huge accomplishment to get to wear it.

Pattern is Advent Scarf 2015 by Lila Agnew. Yarn is Quince and Co. Sparrow in 218 Venice.

Today is my birthday so I am celebrating with as much knitting as possible and as little work as possible.

I am also starting a new audio book today, Fangirl, by Rainbow Rowell. I will let you know what I think! I have heard good things.

I have also been celebrating this month with birthday spinning lessons at Fiber Optic, an amazing yarn shop in nearby Milford, Ohio. I’ve been wanting to take spinning lessons and to investigate what wheel suits me, but there has been nowhere local to do that. The class is great and I have found my wheel! It will take some serious saving to be able to buy it, but the Lendrum will be mine!

Joining Ginny and friends. Hope everyone gets to knit as much as their heart desires during the holidays!

My Lendrum was my first wheel too and I still have it 9 years later, I just love it. I’m so excited for you!

Your wheel looks beautiful, I too am just learning to spin myself and am enjoying the process quite a bit now that my fiber is starting to resemble yarn 😀

Sadly this one belongs to the store, but I get to enjoy it for three classes. Just gorgeous! Glad you are starting to get some yarn!

Oh I forgot to say: Happy Birthday 🙂

I love my Lendrum! But I’ve never spun on anything else. It was a gift from my husband who did the research and picked the Lendrum. And I’m so grateful!

I am very jealous! I was thinking a Lendrum was what I wanted, but it was so nice to try others to makes sure. My teacher says the wheel picks you. In my case it is mutual!

Happy belated birthday! Knitting sounds like a perfect birthday activity to me. 🙂 How are you liking “Fangirl”? I’ve read two Rainbow Rowell books and thought both were decent but not amazing. Sidenote — we’re practically neighbors! I live in Fairborn, a suburb of Dayton.

How cool that we are so close! I generally assume all “internet” people are far, far away, in Maine or California or Australia for some reason! I was a little over zealous in my plans to start listening. I have got to get to that today! I will definitely post about it once I get a feeling for it. I won’t set my sights too high for a John Green type experience!

Oh the spinning sounds so exciting! Something for me to look forward to when my boys are bigger. Enjoy your knitting time
