Yarn Along – 10/21/15

October 21, 2015

Moving along on Carrie’s Wrap, by Sally Melville from the book, Knitting Pattern Essentials. Yarn is Juniper Moon Farm, Moonshine. I have the back done, one front done and I’m working on the other front piece.

One thing I found helpful when knitting the front: Instructions say to knit the piece until it is the same length as the back. Instead of measuring over and over, I just hooked the pieces together using locking stitch markers. It made it super easy to match them up! Don’t know why I never thought of this before!

I think the size is turning out OK. I know it will grow a bit when blocked so it should be in the right ball park. I just might get to wear it during the upcoming winter!

No new reading update. Busy week and not a lot of downtime when I haven’t been knitting!

I have just started using those locking stitch markers and I really do like them. They have multiple uses.

That’s a great idea. I must admit I avoid seaming where possible and just knit the backs and fronts together but this is a handy tip for the times I can’t do that!
