Yarn Along – 9/16/15

September 16, 2015

Having a fun time knitting an improvised pair of socks.

I thought this yarn would look nice with a bit of reverse stockinette to break up the patterning. I am really happy with how it is turning out. The fit is a bit off in the photo because I haven’t inserted the afterthought heel yet.

The yarn is Knit Picks Hawthorn Fingering (which seems to be my favorite yarn lately) in color Laurelhurst. The gold with the green makes me think these will be perfect for the cool fall days ahead.

I am reading the third book in the Maisie Dobbs mystery series: Pardonable Lies, by Jacqueline Winspear. The first book in the series is simply called: Maisie Dobbs.

Maisie is a psychological investigator who works in post WWI England. I would really call it a historical mystery – lots of flashbacks to WWI where Maisie was a nurse in France.

Very enjoyable read with engaging characters. I think it would be a great BBC or PBS series!
