Yarn Along – 6/8/15
This was my travel knitting last week on a trip to Boston for a science conference with my daughter. It’s Susan B. Anderson’s Yowsa Weigh It Shawl – Version 4. It is meant to be knit in a worsted weight yarn by Miss Babbs called Yowsa. I have substituted a fingering weight yarn. It’s one of my new favorites: Knitpicks Hawthorne Fingering Multi in color Vancouver.
I love the way the colors are falling. I am alternating between two balls of yarn to get a more even distribution of color. I am picky that way.
I took a couple fun reads for the trip. I decided to start over on the Spencer mystery series by Robert B. Parker. Quick 250 page books. Interesting characters. And I love being reminded how all the reoccurring characters met. Already finished the first two.
The first book is called The Godwulf Manuscript. It was written in 1973 and the clothing descriptions are pretty hilarious. The dialog holds up, though. Spencer is a great character. I’ll get back to some more literary reads soon, but I have a feeling I’ll be reading one or two of these a week during the summer. Just what I need right now!
