Yarn Along – 1/28/15

January 28, 2015

Laura’s Blog Entry

Hello! Dropping in for an update on my Aise shawl. (Yarn is Knit Picks Shadow laceweight in color Midnight Heather.)

Only made a tiny bit of progress, but I just got straight needles in size 3 and now it is going much faster! It was just so fiddly on the circular. Planning on making huge progress now. 🙂

Started a new book for my book club, The Language of Flowers, by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. So far I like it a lot. It starts with a girl who is aging out of the foster care system. She has to make it on her own and finds a job at a floral shop. There she is able to use her natural ability to arrange flowers combined with with her wonderful knowledge of the each flower’s meaning.

I have only listened to part one so far. There are flashbacks to her past foster homes that reveal what seems to be a complicated past.

Wonderfully written, and the the audiobook is perfectly performed. Reminds me of the amazing audio version of The Secret Life of Bees.

What are you reading and/or knitting?

Happy to be joining Ginny.

i’m doing the asie, too, only am using size 5 and not sure I’m loving the overly lacey look. I like yours much better. HMMMM. Thinking a start over might be in my future! Thanks. (Loved that book, btw!!!)

I hope you aren’t too far along! But I don’t blame you. I think it looks nicer a bit tighter. I’ll have to peek over to see how yours turns out!
