Yarn Along – 1/21/15
Laura’s Blog Entry
Happy Wednesday, all! This is my busiest day of the week, so I’ll mostly be dreaming about knitting, but here’s a little project update.
I’ve made progress on the front of my “Summer Crops” by Erica Kempf Broughton. Again, the yarn is Knit Picks fingering weight – Stroll Tonal in color 25386, Thunderhead. I think just a bit longer to use up that ball of yarn and I’ll be starting on the back. Although I might block the front first to make sure it is going to stretch as far as I am assuming it will. Knitting is always an adventure into the unknown!
The book I am enjoying right now is Carve, Stamp, Play: Designing and Creating Custom Stamps by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. She is a cool mixed-media artist that I follow. Among other things she has an inspiring podcast, Adventures in Arting, as well as a website and blog at BalzerDesigns.com. I love her work and plan to learn to carve stamps. Someday.
For now I am soaking in her knowledge. I got this copy at the library but will definitely invest in the book when my carving time has come!
Check over at Ginny’s blog, Small Things, if you would like to read what a group of other knitters are making and reading.
