Ch-Ch-Changes

April 28, 2011

Lots going on here. Lots. I know for you “lots” is probably much more that our “lots,” but just to clarify, this would qualify as “lots” for anybody.

I will restrain myself from going into too much detail, but one big thing is that Neil recently made a huge decision to leave his beloved job of nearly 12 years and accept a position with a local video production company. He just started and we are looking forward to new and exciting challenges for him as he works on television commercials,  animations used on networks like MTV, live concert tour video support and other cool things like video for museum exhibits. All this and and we can still live in Cincinnati. Who knew? So glad we didn’t have to move away for him to expand his horizons.

In addition we have made the decision to change Mari’s school in the fall. Yeah. She decided against auditioning this year for the performing arts school and so we once again weighed our options, did more soul searching and decided on an alternative school that supports home schooling families. It’s another big change, but one we couldn’t be more excited about.

All of us are looking forward to a new rhythm in our home and new schedule. We are  weighing what is important to us and making more time for those things. I do love fresh starts and new beginnings. Maybe not this many all at one time, but I still love them.

If you would like to read more about Neil’s personal journey on the work front, he did share about it on Facebook. Here’s a link. It’s a bit more than we usually share here so we chose not to post it on this blog, but you are more than welcome to dive deeper on that if you would like.

It seems a cliche, but the lyrics to David Bowie’s “Changes” seem appropriate right about now:

Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-Changes
Don’t want to be a richer man
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-Changes
Just gonna have to be a different man
Time may change me
But I can’t trace time
