It may be April, but we’ve no time to fool around! This month the amazing Will Crewdson joins us from London as we delve into the world of our favorite movie soundtracks. We talk about Predator, Koyaanisqatsi, Naked Lunch, as well as the works of Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman and Vangelis among many others. As always, Laura brings the lastest Depeche Mode News, Mari plays the piano, and Neil fancies a fetching fellow.  We also share some bittersweet news you don’t want to miss. Featuring tracks by The Sleep, Will Crewdson and Nine Inch Nails. Is Will’s accent dreamy or is it just me?

I’m gonna miss starting each month with you guys.

I shall miss you too but you gotta do what you gotta do. My CD arrived earlier this week so thanks for that and I look forward to hearing the final show, maybe you should try a multi-Skype hookup? Can’t wait to see the VH DVD too, still sad I never made it over 😦 Good luck Smiths… x

Thanks, Andrew. So glad you got your CD! I need to load that album back on my iPod. Love it. We really should think about the final show. So far you are the only one to send anything in so we may need a multi-skype hook up to save us!

Did someone say multi-skype hookup? It’d take me about a week to try and arrange anything to say and it’d sound like crap anyway… would be happy to attempt to do something.

That is a cool idea! Now that Neil has figured out how to make Skype sound good – didn’t Will sound magnificent? – I’ll ask if we could maybe record with a number of people. Perhaps one at a time, but that could be fun… I’ll post more about this after we brainstorm!

Sad to see you go, but at least I still have to start at the beginning once I start watching BSG. I’ll have much to listen to as I catch up.

A few of my favorite soundtracks:
    Athens, GA. – Inside/Out
    Bram Stoker’s Dracula
    Birdy
    Faraway, So Close
    Fight Club
Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence
    Lost Highway
    Run Lola Run
    Twin Peaks
    Whale Rider

if we haven’t sent in any recorded thing it is V’s fault. Entirely. Just sayin. I guess I could send something all my byself. Still time for that?

    • April 23, 2010 3:01 pm

Ab-so-frickin-lutely! Please do! Please! Please! Can you do it tonight? We’re recording tomorrow early-ish.

I pretty much love Mr. Crewdson’s glittery trousers.

Some of my favorite scores are by W. G. Snuffy Walden who’s written for most of the TV shows by Marshall Herskovitz & Edward Zwick: thirtysomething, My So-Called Life, Once and Again, etc. Any time I hear the music for Ellyn’s wedding from thirtysomething, I still get a little choked up.

    • April 23, 2010 3:03 pm

Thanks, Brian. Yeah, Will is the glittery trousers champ in my book. He even beats Mr. Gore, but just barely. Interesting soundtrack choices. Will have to check those out! Thirtysomething always choked me up, period!
