Local Links: Farmer’s Markets
Laura’s Blog Entry
There’s some cool things going on here in Cincinnati that I wanted to share with our local readers.
Now that the weather is warming up, I am more likely to get out and make a trek to farmer’s markets in the area. If you head down to Findlay Market you can also visit with Edgecliff Press, a local indie book publisher. They are hosting book signings each week with their authors. You can see all the books Edgecliff has to offer, which includes children’s books, as well as books on photography and architecture. Check out this link to the Findlay Market site for specifics on dates and times. The event runs on Sundays through May 10.
Another farmer’s market opportunity in the Pleasant Ridge/Kennedy Heights area is at the Green Corner Studios and Marketplace at 6524 Montgomery Road. They feature the produce of Jim and Patty Schwartz of Back Acres Farm, Georgetown, Ohio. We’ve shopped with this vendor when they were at the Pea Pod Café farmer’s market and really enjoyed what we purchased. Jim and Patty sell grass-fed meats, free-range eggs, cheeses, Patty’s baked goods and assorted organic vegetables. The market is on Saturdays from 10 AM – 1 PM. Parking is available on Tyne Avenue or at The Kennedy Heights Arts Center.
