Show Notes

Grab an eggnog as Neil shares a personal struggle and reaches out for help. Laura dishes about The Hills and we delves into the work of Mr. Steve Busemi. We defend Depeche Mode’s film career, Santa is found lacking in the looks department and Neil cheats on Battlestar Galactica with Star Trek. Finally, The Big Lebowski hijacks the show. I don’t know about you, but I’m already feelin’ festive. With Christmasy tunes provided by Venus Hum, Monk, Ellery, Number One Fan and Timbuk3. Try saying that three times fast.

Oh, Smiths, you have no idea how much joy you bring me on the first day of each and every month. Thank you for helping make jury duty all the more bearable, even though I had to listen to the new show in two segments.

Jury Duty?! Ooh, tell us all about it!

Just kidding. We know you can’t talk about it.

But seriously, tell us all about it.

Let’s just say he knows from whence he speaks and leave it at that!

I AM NOT A GEEK! Although I CAN tell you the difference between an EPS Power Tap and a Heisenberg compensator. (SNORT. SNORT.)

I wish I had fun jury duty details, but alas, I was not chosen to be on the jury, though I did get to sit there all day until the jury was picked. Drug trafficking case. And I already decided the accused was guilty as the day is long from his swagger in and out of the court room and the smug and smarmy look on his face. I’ll have to read the paper to find out if the chosen decided the same after hearing the evidence.

Hey Smiths! What a great show.

Neil – I’m not sure what’s more disturbing… you placing your coffee mug on the urinal or you calling it a “drinking vessel.”

I think Neil reading sci-fi message board rants in character should be a regular feature.

Mari – In the Bleak Mid-Winter is one of my favorite holiday songs. Awesome job.

Laura – I so love your infectious laughter. And I love all the songs selected especially Blue Christmas by Timbuk3.

    Happy holidays Smiths!

Thanks, Brian! Don’t bring up that bathroom/drink thing again. Yuck! I will pass on your request for the message board rant feature. And Mari and I appreciate your kind words. Hope you have a great holiday!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the song you played mid-way through.. by Monk! I can’t get to the other half of the podcast because I keep backing up and listening to the song again. LOL!

Pretty song, isn’t it! Ric Hordinski does stuff under his own name that is similar. You can find him on iTunes. I especially like The Silence of Everything Yearned For. We’re pretty lucky that he is a hometown boy!
