Caution: Drag Queen Using Spicy Language Ahead

September 9, 2008

Laura’s Blog Entry

NSFW, boys and girls.

Saturday night Neil and I went out to celebrate our anniversary. We headed down to The Dock for a little reunion for two clubs that were popular back in the early days of our marriage, Warehouse and Vertigo.

We made a little, very dark video of our adventures. As you will hear there was great music. And all kinds of people. But we love the Goths the best! Although who doesn’t love a drag queen reciting a poem about the bathrooms of a nightclub? They don’t call Cincinnati the “Queen City of the West” for nothin’.

So did you go to the Waffle House? Or maybe The Anchor Grill… they may doze, but they never close.

Neither – we called it a night. But both places are yummy. And entertaining.

omigod I can’t believe I missed that. I didn’t even hear about it. I was at the warehouse every weds night for YEARS back in the early 90s and then later vertigo for 80s night. sigh I miss dancing to music I like. One of my faves to get out on the floor was Don’t go by Yaz(oo) “do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do DON’T GO!” heh
So the dock is still open, just at Longworth hall now? Do they have an 80s night? Does anyone have an 80s night?

Hi Katy! Great! You’ll be someone we call next time for sure! I’ll be on the floor with you to Yazoo! Yeah the Dock is right across from Longworth Hall, not actually in the Longworth Hall building. They have a fun Goth night on Thursdays, but it’s hard to make it there on a week night. They plan to do more of these Warehouse/Vertigo nights, so I’ll keep you posted!
