Make Something

Laura’s Blog Entry

That has been the theme around here the past week…

Neil spent the week working on a creative project that we are very excited about – but not ready to talk about quite yet.

I have been knitting up a storm. Two healthy (sort-of) addictions: Facebook and Knitting. Here are the fruits of my labor – all gifts.

Knitted scarf* in merino wool with variegated stripes in a soy/wool blend. Is it as heathy to wear soy as it is to eat it? I am in love with this scarf and the coloration.

Granny Square Purse**. It took me so long to figure out how to crochet. Six books and some Youtube videos later…

The other night I actually dreamed about being in a room with people and weaving long strands of yarn around everyone. There was also something about George Clooney, but I digress…

Even Mari got in on the act and made a little cake*** for her American Girl doll by using poptarts and frosting. Apparently her doll is about to win a medal in a gymnastics competition and this is her victory cake. Who knew we had a champion in the family.

So that was our week. Neil wrapped things up this morning by creating some amazing omelettes stuffed with all sorts of veggies. Mmmmmmm. Men that cook. Very hot indeed. (Almost as hot as men who clean up after they cook.)

Wow, I love your creative projects and Mari’s cake is so adorable! The granny square bag is especially nice – the colors are just perfect. 🙂 Okay, I’m off to answer your email now….!

Heather, did you notice the fleur-de-lis on the ends of the drawstrings on the bag? I thought of you as I was making them!
